Usefulness of Uselessness
When you reach a certain level and survival is no longer the only essential thing, then you start becoming aware of such concepts as culture, patriotism, prestige, among others. Then art assumes a very important place and can, in a sophisticated way, influence the opinion that other people have of you depending on your attitude towards art.
For instance, an expensive million-dollar yacht is certainly a beautiful and useful thing, but somewhere deep inside your brain it will be associated with a simple oar boat. The same goes for some super cars. It is also a useful thing, you can marvel at it for a short while, but then your associations will make a connection with a good old wheelbarrow.
A work of art simply exists, and it has no connection to anything you can really use. Its value exists in itself. It is an emotion. And emotions are at the foundations of all the decisions you make - rational reasoning comes later, after the decision has, in fact, already been made.
Art is what can influence and boost your prestige without a seemingly rational cause. And this is just one of ways how art improves lifes.
Don't hesitate to choose your piece of art here or here!
Rely on professionals
Have you ended up in a situation when your horse has moved on to better pastures, but you don't even have one good photo of your horse? Have you ever wanted to boast a bit about your horse to friends and relatives, by showing photos you have taken yourself, but your beautiful animal doesn't look particularly spectacular in those photos?
To keep your memories alive and to cause genuine fascination with your horse's photograph, you should rely only and solely on a photographer, who specializes in animal photography, who knows them well and understands how to take a photo to make sure your horse (or any other animal) looks best.

Imagine a sterile-looking office with blank walls. You feel alone and abandoned in there. All you want is to get out of there as soon as possible.
And now imagine another room: boasting with original art work - paintings, photographs or sculptures. It is an interesting and pleasant place to be, it makes you feel welcomed and expected. You understand that the owner of these works of art is special, intelligent, professional, one, who understands what real value is.
Art is very powerful. It can demonstrate that its owner can be trusted. Business transpires much better. That is one of the psychological effects of art, which has been scientifically proven.
Without question, the horse is one of the most powerful and useful for business images in a work of art.
Invest in yourself and in your business, get yourself an assistant, who does not need a salary!
My resolution this time: no promises, which I don't keep anyway. Instead, I will visualise the end of this year as I'd like to see it. From a future point of view, I will be looking back at what has occurred over the course of the year and how I've ended up here. So, without further ado, keep in mind or, better yet, jot down on a piece of paper the vision of the end of 2018, and walk towards it step by step. What's your take on that?
What is End of Year Time for You?
We must slow down and look over our shoulder. To take a look at the year's achievements. What is worth something and what we should get rid of.
We must think about our family and friends. Must send good thoughts.
We must go to every possible Christmas markets and have hot drinks.
We must cook delicious meals traditional to the end of the year so as to make it definitely clear that it is Christmas or New Year's. I enjoy the Finnish laatikko - oven-baked mashed root vegetables with various spices. A genuine Finnish Christmas dish, the main one. The Finns eat some ham too (sometimes about 10 kg of it) and special vegetable salad only on Christmas, and afterwards, until it is finished (which can drag way into the next year).
To create an ambiance, you can light some candles, if you're lacking other props.
You must get at least one calendar for the next year. I've got one!
And must drink wine. Mulled and same as usual.
Plastic Surgery for the Old Lady
I love Baku. I like the dress uniform of the oil city - skyscrapers that spring up in various parts of the city, the Heydar Aliyev Centre designed by the outstanding architect Zaha Hadid, the vast boulevards, parks, the old part of the city called inner city Icheri Sheher, and the modern good looking residential buildings, which do not resemble each other like clones. But this is not what the story is about.
If a city could be compared to a lady, then this lady would be quite an elderly one (the year of foundation of Baku is unclear; some guess that it may have happened some time between the first and fourth century AD), and its face is not exactly as smooth as silk. However, it is a face that is distinguishable with all of its centuries old wrinkles - the old, low-risers and deep courtyards, with shade-giving trees, where neighbours can feel like a part of one big family, where in almost artistic flurry of colours washing is drying on lines, and, as you pass by, you really want to take a peek at their lives.
Boys playing ball games right on the street, elderly men play the game of nardi while sipping tea, cars move along very slowly, and everyone knows everyone. If someone's time has come to leave this world, then a big white tent is set up and the road is closed to traffic. It is an interesting area to go on a walk, you can always spot something to marvel at. There's no room for boredom.
Not all structures are architectural monuments, but just simple houses with style and even adornments. Among them, there are also true architectural wonders, which still stand upright against all odds, however the whole neighbourhood has certain charm and something altogether unique.
And now all that will be levelled to the ground. Apparently, new multi-apartment buildings will be constructed instead. The residents tell that two years later they will have a new apartment here. Some of them are happy of this prospect, while others, especially the elderly ones, are sad.
This surgery will, of course, remove the wrinkles in the face of the old city. It will also change it beyond recognition. It will be a different face. It is not particularly rational, of course, to leave those houses. But instead of simply dismantling them and sweeping a whole cultural layer into the dump, perhaps some improvements or restorations could be considered instead?
Why the Horse?
Have you noticed that in movies, which tell about the lives of aristocrats (who haven't gone broke) or rich, successful businessmen in conservative and modern interiors alike, you often see paintings, photographs or sculptures depicting horses? Or heroes and statesmen riding on horseback, but not in Rolls Royce or Mercedes cars.
Horses throughout the history of humankind leading up to the present times have been known for their strength, resilience, and energy, and they are perceived as the symbol of grace and victory.
In the western world, the perception of the horse has more of a practical nature and the influence of a horse's image is used more intuitively. Whereas the sages of the orient have dug deep into the minutest nuances in the strong impact of the horse's image and even offer recommendations for the design arrangements of an office or a home.
There are some principles regarding horses in Vastu shastra and Feng Shui which suggest that they are a symbol of power and therefore success. Horses depicted in photographs and sculptures at your home or office can have a more inducive effect on your victory.
On offer I have paintings and photographs of horses as a help to your business and guardians to the comfort and peace at your homes. A horse painting is the perfect gift. What is more - to ensure that the painting is more personal and fits your needs better, you can now order paintings and photographs for your office, home or as a gift. And if you have your very own horse or several horses or if you want to surprise a happy horse owner, then you can commission paintings of these particular horses. As the time goes on, these paintings will become your best memories. They will hold value for your posterity and to those, who will value horses for centuries to come.
A bonus - if you decide to commission paintings of specific horses that are still living, then you can get a professional photo shoot and 20 basically edited images free of charge.

HYVÄÄ SYNTYMÄPÄIVÄÄ, SUOMI!
My dear Finland, happy birthday to you!
It is difficult to explane my feelings to Finland, but they are very special. Because Finland is very special, with it's great nature, nice people, basically good politics. If I could be allowed to use just one word to say what is this feeling, my answer would be - love.
I am happy to be a part of Finland and even leave some traces there - my paintings and photographs in many people' houses.
Long live Finland!

100 years of Finland celebration in Baku
I have been living in the amazing country of Azerbaijan for some time now. One year ago, I decided to create a collection of paintings dedicated to the gorgeous horses of Azerbaijan - the Karabaghs and Dibazis - and to organise an exhibition here in the city of Baku. With great help from the ambassador of Latvia in Azerbaijan Juris Maklakovs we found an excellent venue - the Baku Modern Art Museum. Due to some technical problems at the museum, my exhibition was postponed. Now, I am surrounded by my paintings (28 pieces). Paintings are not for sale yet. They are waiting for the exhibition, which will take place next year, most likely in February-March. But I am offering an opportunity to take a peek at the paintings virtually here and if you really like some you can consider to purchase them during the exhibition or even make reservations now.
